বর্ষাকাল (আষাঢ়-শ্রাবন) : মেঘ বলে ভরা বর্ষার একি প্লাবন প্রথম কদম ফুলে ফুটেছে শ্রাবন।

আষাঢ় : আষাঢ় হলো প্রকৃতিকে মিলে ও সহজ করে দেয়ার মাস। সব কিছুতেই অসম্মত প্রকৃতি ও আষাঢ়ে তার রাজিনামা লিখে দেয়। প্রাণিকুলের মধ্যে শব্দ না করার একটা প্রকৃতি জাগিয়ে তোলে। শুধু দোয়েলের গলা খনখনিয়ে শিস দিয়ে এক ডাল থেকে অন্য ডালে উড়ে যায়। আর সবই নীরব নিস্তব্ধ। পানি পড়ার শব্দ।

শ্রাবন : অবিশ্রান্ত ধারায় ঝরতে থাকে শ্রাবণের ধারা। বাংলার সবচেয়ে সৃষ্টিশীল ঋতু হলো বর্ষা। আর শ্রাবন হলো তারই প্লাবনের মনোহর একটি মাস।

The Rainy Season:
The rainy season comes after the summer. “ASHAR’ and “SRAVAN” are the months of rains. The sky is overcast with clouds and the sun cannot be seen for hours even for days. It rains heavily now and then. Roads become muddy. Sometimes Cats and dogs and sometimes in small drops. Ponds, canals, lakes and rivers are full to the brim.Rain is a great blessing for our country. Sometimes it rains so heavily that it causes flood and brings untold miseries to people. In the rural areas boat navigation becomes a common mode of transport during this season. The main two crops of Bangladesh, rice and jute, grow in this season. This is the season for keya, kadam, kamini, jui, gandharaj and other fragrant flowers, as well as fruits like guava, pineapple, and pomelo.Hilsafish is available in plenty during this season

শরৎকাল (ভাদ্র-আশ্বিন) : গাঢ় নীলে সাদা ফুল শরতের হাওয়ায় মন হয় আকুল।

ভাদ্র : ভাদ্রের বৃষ্টি অনাসৃষ্টি। প্রাকৃতিতে ভাদ্রের শুরু হয় আসন প্রস্তুতির ইঙ্গিত। তবে ভাদ্রের শুরু হয় শীতের প্রস্তুতি। শীত ভাদ্রের বৃষ্টি অনাসৃষ্টি। গাছের ভেতরে গাছ রস টেনে, কষ টেনে শূন্যে ঝুলাতে থাকে। ভাদ্র এলে মনে হয় প্রকৃতির আড়ম্বরের মধ্যে অন্যের রসকষ টেনে আমাকে সতেজ থাকতে হয়।

আশ্বিন : আশ্বিন আসে হাল্কা চালে কোমর দুলিয়ে। হাল্কা মেঘের চাল নিয়ে আশ্বিন  এসে হাজির হয় বাংলাদেশে। প্রকৃতিতে এটা যেন একটা আরামের দীর্ঘশ্বাস। আশ্বিন হলো এই প্রাকৃতিক যোগসূএের মধ্যবর্তী মাস। আশ্বিনে আকাশের দিকে চোখ মেলে তাকালে আকাশকে মনে হয় একটা নীল চাদোয়ার মতো। এত নীল এত ঘন নীল যে, চোখের দৃষ্টি আপনা থেকেই ফিরে আসে মাটিতে, ঘাসে লতায় পাতায়।

The autumn Season:
After the rainy season comes the Autumn.“BHADRA” and “ASHIN” are the months of this season. Rain is not so copious. The dark clouds in a grey sky, characteristic of the rainy season, is replaced by white clouds floating in the blue sky. The sky looks deep blue and flowers bloom in this season. Days and nights are almost equal. During autumn a large number of fragrant flowers bloom: shiuli, roses, bakul, mallika, kamini and madhabi. The lotus grows in the wetlands and kash flower on the riverfronts.

হেমন্ত (কার্তিক- অগ্রহায়ণ) : হেমন্তের ঘ্রাণ হয়ে বাজিছে মাদল চারিদিকে নুয়ে আছে ফুল আর ফসল।

কার্তিক : কার্তিক এমন ভাবে আসে যেন ভেজা বেড়ালের মত স্বভাবের একটি মাস এসে প্রবেশ করেছে বাংলাদেশ প্রকৃতির মধ্যে। না শীত না গ্রীষ্ম, মেঘেরও কোনো আনাগোনা নেই আকাশে। আকাশ ঘন নীল, সন্ধ্যার সমাগনে আকাশের সব তারা গুনে গুনে খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়। বুক টান করে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকে কালপুরুষ। একটা পরিচ্ছন্নতার ভাব আছে র্কাতিকের কায়মনে।

অগ্রহায়ণ : বন্ধুতের মাস অগ্রহায়ণ, অগ্রহায়ণ ঋতুচক্রে একটি মধ্যবর্তি মাস। বলা যায় হেমন্ত শরৎকালীন আবহাওয়াকে দ্রুত পেছনে ঠেলে দিয়ে এ মাসটি এসে শীতের সব শাক-সব্জি তরিতরকারি এবং মাছ মাংস নিয়ে হাজির হয়। অগ্রহায়ণের সন্ধ্যায় দ্রুত অন্ধকার ঘনিয়ে আসে, মুহূর্তের মধ্যে সূর্য ডুবে যায়।

The Late-autumn Season:
The autumn rolls into the Late -Autumn. “KARTIC”and “AGRAHAYAN” are the months of the autumn. Actually it is a transitional phase between autumn and winter. Dew-drops begin to fall. Paddy ripens and itis cut down in this season. It is the season of dew and farmers look happy. They are busy in harvesting. They celebrate the NabannaUtshab( New Rice Fastival). This is also the time for colds, cough and fever. It also hints the arrival of winter.

শীত (পৌষ-মাঘ) : কুয়াশার আবরনে পাখিদের ধ্বনি ফুলেতে কাঁপন লাগে শীতের আগমনী।

পৌষ : পৌষের রোদে বসে পৌষের পরাক্রম বাংলাদেশের প্রতিটি পরিবারকে শীত ঋতুর ক্ষণস্থায়ী বৈচিত্র্যকে উপভোগ করায়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে পৌষের মাঝামাঝি থেকেই শুরু হয় শৈত্যপ্রবাহ। ঠান্ডা কনকনে বাতাস জামাকাপড়ের ভেতর দিয়ে কান ও নাকের রন্ধ্র দিয়ে শির শির করে আমাদের শরীরে প্রবেশ করে। যদিও ঋতুচক্রে বাংলাদেশের শীতকালটা খুবই ক্ষণস্থায়ী, তীব্রতা নেই বললেই চলে।

মাঘ : মাঘের শীত বাঘের গায়ে। তবে মাঘের শেষার্ধ ফাল্গুনের ফুরফুরে হওয়ায় ওম ছড়িয়ে যাওয়ার মতো। এ সময় শিমুলের লাল ফুলে মনে হয় বৃক্ষচূড়ায় আগুন লেগেছে। মাঘের শেষটা হল আসলে একটি মধ্যবর্তী আবহাওয়ার চমৎকারিত্বে ভরা।

The Winter Season:
The fifth season and the colder part of the year, in contrast to summer, the hottest is called Winter. According to the Bangla calendar it spreads over the months of “PAUS” and “MAGH” .Winter looks gloomy. Trees become bare of leaves.People shiver in cold. Birds and other animals suffer from cold. People warp themselves with quilt and blanket. Various delicious vegetables grow in this season and people eat them. This is the season for pitha or rice cakes such as bhapapitha, chitaipitha, patisapta and pulipitha. It is the season of fog. Winter is also a season of collecting dates juice.

বসন্ত (ফাল্গুন-চৈত্র) : বসন্ত এলে রোদ রূপ বদলায়, কোকিলও কুহু কুহু তারই গান গায়।

ফাল্গুন : ফাল্গুনের গুনগুনানি, ঋতুর বৈচিত্রের মধ্যে এ মাসটি অন্য কারো সাথে মেলে না। না শীত না গরম, কোকিলের মধুরডাকে মহিত হয় চারিপাশ। ফাল্গুনের বাতাস খুবই এলোমেলো । উওর থেকে বইতে শুরু করে, আবার হঠাৎ দক্ষিণ থেকে বায়ুর বেগ এসে উওরের শীতার্ত প্রবাহকে থামিয়ে দিয়ে প্রবল বেগে বইতে থাকে, যার নাম দক্ষিণা বায়ু।

চৈত্র : চৈএের চৈতালী। চৈএে খরার চেয়ে ধরার চরিত্র পলকে বদলে গিয়ে আকাশ-মাটি কাঁপিয়ে তর্জন-গর্জন করে মেঘের স্তম্ভ গড়ে ওঠে আকাশে, কিন্তু চৈএের নিয়মেই এই মেঘ-বৃষ্টি না ঝরিয়ে আকাশে বিদ্যুতের অক্ষর জড়ো করতে করতে অবশেষে দিগন্তে মিলিয়ে য়ায়। লোকে বলে যত গর্জে তত বর্ষে না। আসলে চৈএের খরতপ্ত দুপুরে সবচেয়ে স্বস্তিকর হলো শীতলপাটি বিছিয়ে খালি গায়ে গড়াগড়ি যাওয়া।

The Spring:
Spring is the best of all seasons. The last of the seasons occurs between winter and summer, spreads over the Bangla months “PHALGUN” and “CHAITRA” .It is called the king of seasons. The spring comes after winter. It is the season of flowers. It is neither too cold nor too hot. The most pleasant and enjoyable part of thebanglali year is spring. New leaves shoot out. Trees and plants look beautiful. The Earth smiles with fresh beauty. In this season the sky is not cloudy. So the sky is bright. And at night the moon arrive at full blossom. There is joy in every mind. Though the spring is the season of flowers, the cuckoo is the main attraction of this season. The sweet song of cuckoo moves our mind with joy. Not only cuckoo ,but also other birds like Doel, Boukothakao, sing sweetly in this season. The flower blooms and give us sweet smell all around. The gentle breeze blows. More over all the beauty of this season is enjoyable.
